This year the Heritage Film Festival is virtual with an extended screening period, including four pre-festival, one-day teaser programs (July 22, August 5, September 9, and September 23) and the 16th Annual Heritage Film Festival (October 21—November 17, 2021). Pre-festival teasers are new this year, and will consist of four separate screenings of individual films from the 2020 Heritage Film Festival and discussions with the filmmakers. Also new this year is the metamorphosis of the Heritage Film Festival into month-long festival. Starting in October, audiences will have the opportunity to not only view four separate programs of films for one week each, but also to enjoy discussions with selected filmmakers and esteemed moderators from the media community. In keeping with the Festival's theme,Looking to the Future/Honoring the Past, a broad spectrum of short works by seasoned and emerging filmmakers is showcased. This includes films of all types and genres about immigration, love, friendship, culture, family, food, magic, and much more.
