Join us at the 35th Annual Women’s History Month Luncheon to celebrate the dynamic accomplishments of women who serve in and partner with government to influence and impact our communities.
The County’s theme, Beyond The Ballot Honoring Our Past…Connecting Our Future, highlights individuals and organizations whose contributions demonstrate dedication, commitment and pride in Prince George’s County. This is based on the national theme, Valiant Women ofthe Vote, which celebrates women who have fought for women’s suffrage in the United States. In recognition of the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment, we will honor women from the original suffrage movement, as well as those who have continued the struggle to ensure voting rights and equality for all after the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
The highlight of the event entails award presentations by Prince George’s County Executive Alsobrooks. This year, awards will be presented to the recipient of the prestigious Gladys Noon Spellman Public Service Award, named in honor of the late Congresswoman who climbed the ranks of service from the County classroom to Capitol Hill. In addition, the Gladys Noon Spellman Scholarship Award will recognize a graduating senior with both academic and civic excellence.
Additional program and ticket information to be announced.
