ALEX HILL, A CHILD PRODIGY OF EARLY JAZZ:

    Monday May 20th 7:00-8:15 pm
Join the Potomac River Jazz Club for a free ZOOM talk on Alex Hill, a genius of jazz who wrote for the likes of Louis Armstrong, arranged charts for Paul Whiteman and Duke Ellington, who played piano and led bands in Chicago and New York City. Bringing Hill to life is Hal Smith, one of America’s leading trad jazz drummers, teachers – on the faculty of the New Orleans Trad Jazz Camp – and jazz historian.
