Group travel can be so much fun, with each person adding to the joy and excitement. It can also be a challenge. What will satisfy the entire group? Which activities will be interesting to everyone? What restaurants serve food for all our needs and wants? Luckily, in Prince George’s, there are plenty of trip options that check these boxes.

Add these five locations to your group itinerary:

  1. Transport yourself back in time at the National Colonial Farm in Accokeek. Established by the Accokeek Foundation in 1958, the historic farm museum tells the tale of early Marylanders, with a focus on agriculture. Check out the kitchen garden, tobacco field and barn, and museum garden, then visit the heritage livestock. You can see American Milking Devon cattle, Ossabaw Island hogs, Hog Island sheep, and various heritage poultry. This historic site sits inside the 200-acre Piscataway Park, where you’ll also find nature trails, boating docks, and picnic groves.

Group meal suggestion: Order the classics at family-run B&G Tavern, including steak wraps, hamburgers, and club sandwiches.

  1. With its rooftop terrace, fire pits, and three floors of activity, Topgolf in National Harbor is an excellent spot to bring a group. There are even private event spaces to rent for a larger crew. The menu features many fan favorites, including Buffalo chicken dip, cheese fries, boneless or bone-in wings, and hot honey pepperoni flatbread. Once you’re fueled, you can challenge one another to a few rounds of golf, a digital golf-based game, or a virtual course.

Group meal suggestion: Pop by Sardi’s Peruvian Chicken in Oxon Hill, where your group can order chicken, seafood, sandwiches, and salads — plus dessert.

  1. Lean into the luxury and beauty of Prince George’s at Janemark Winery & Vineyard in Brandywine. The fields once grew tobacco, and two born-and-raised Marylanders have worked hard to transform the fertile land into a productive vineyard. The couple’s passion for winemaking has produced some of the region's finest wines. Join a winery event, like an evening musical performance, book a private event for your group, or schedule a trail horseback ride through the farm.

Group meal suggestion: Head to Bonefish Grill, a Brandywine restaurant with plenty of space to serve small and large groups. Ask about the specials and prix fixe meals.

  1. If your travel schedules align with the Chesapeake Baysox in Bowie and you book tickets, your group will be rewarded with a joy-filled evening unlike any other sporting event. The family-friendly stadium hosts special events all season, including Woof Wednesdays (where spectators can bring their dogs), fireworks shows, Star Wars Night, special giveaways, and pre- and post-game kid activities. If your group is dedicated enough, you can book a private suite or party deck to elevate the experience.

Group meal suggestion: At nearby Ruby’s Southern Comfort Kitchen, your group can indulge in classic favorites, from BBQ wings to peach cobbler.

  1. Bring your artistic or art-loving crew to the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Hyattsville. To fulfill its mission to elevate creativity, especially in printmaking, papermaking, and book arts, the arts hub provides space for artists and guests to explore these forms. It hosts artist studios, workshops, educational programming, artists talks and demos, and exhibitions. For a specific event, your group can rent the gallery and host a cocktail-style gathering.

Group meal suggestion: Across the street, Franklins Restaurant, Brewery & General Store is perfect for groups. When the weather’s warm, you can enjoy the outdoor beer garden and tiki bar.
