When it comes to luxury, National Harbor is the cream of the crop. That, however, doesn’t mean you can’t find a good deal there. Tanger National Harbor is home to an array of outlets, where you can literally shop ‘til you drop — and do it all within a budget. With this National Harbor shopping trip, you’ll find a bit of luxury, a bit of fun, and a bit of accessibility — a combination that Prince George’s is excellent at bringing to its visitors.
Follow this curated itinerary for a day of sip-and-shop indulgence:
Stay: Start your day by checking into the MGM National Harbor, where you can stay as close as possible to the outlets. Not only will your stay be convenient, but it will also be dripping in luxury. The hotel boasts amenities and design that are both comfortable and elegant, from the pillow-top mattresses to the blackout shades.
Brunch: Get a table at Bread + Butter, a 24-hour spot at the resort where reservations are not required. The restaurant is inside the National Market, where upscale casual dining reigns queen. Grab some breakfast staples — and a much-needed coffee or tea — as you relax before your day of shopping.
Shop: Once you’re well-fueled, you’ll be ready to head over to Tanger National Harbor. You can easily spend the day at all of the shops — buying luxury goods, everyday items, and more. Check out Coach, Kate Spade, Lacoste, and Marc Jacobs for those luxury goods. Head to Movado, Noor Jewelers, Oakley, Kay Jewelers, and Pandora for your accessories and jewelry. Visit Columbia, Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour for your athletic gear, then stroll over to Famous Footwear, New Balance, and Puma for the best in footwear.
The shops are an easy spot to spend the day, with plenty of parking, a children’s play area, and EV charging stations. The upscale, open-air shopping center is a great place to get great deals, including some from top global brands.
Indulge: Satisfy your sweet tooth at It’Sugar, and make sure you look for a retro soda to give you some extra energy. If you’re lucky, you’ll find a Bazooka bubble gum or Flying Cauldron Butterscotch soda. The store also offers classic and innovative treats, from candy dust to gummies to Pez dispensers. You might even be able to find some retro-style candies, like Wacky Wafers or Creme Savers.
Eat: Fuel your day at Deli Express Factory. There, you can order wraps, paninis, and sub sandwiches that will give you enough energy to shop all the deals. Or, if you prefer a vegetarian option, try a salad or a vegetable-packed wrap. Start your meal with potato salad, sweet potato fries, or chili cheese fries — and add a milkshake. The location even offers kids' menus.
Shop (Again): Head back to National Harbor to stroll through the shops at its center. You can find a new outfit at Comm Unity Love, your more rugged gear at Carhartt, your next favorite book at MahoganyBooks, and so much more.
Relax: Grab a beer at The Brass Tap to unwind from your day of shopping and spending. The upscale beer bar offers 60 different craft beers on tap, over 100 bottles, and an array of wines and spirits. Kick your feet up for a bit and enjoy the spoils of all your shopping efforts.
Dine: Once you’ve taken a bit of a break, head back to MGM National for dinner. Ginger will bring you into the world of Asian cuisine in a way that feels both authentic and innovative. Choose from Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese dishes all made by expert chefs and enjoyed in a beautiful dining space.
Drink: If you aren’t asleep yet, stay up and try one of the expertly crafted cocktails at Diablo’s Cantino in MGM National Harbor. The Been There, Done That includes pisco, mezcal espadin, charred pineapple, and banana; the El Cantante includes aged rum, reposado tequila, mango, and peita orgeat. Add the yucca “tots” or the crispy corn pups for a late-night snack.
