Any opportunity to celebrate your mother is a good one, and we’re sharing ways to spend time with your mother, or that special woman in your life all year long.  In Prince George’s, you can try something new, something fun, and something different. You can bring your mom to brunch, do a nature craft together, enjoy a spa treatment with one another, and so much more.

Enjoy spending time together at one of these Prince George’s activities:

  1. Shop for flowers. Patuxent Home and Garden in Bowie is a true wonderland for plant lovers. For over 25 years, the nursery has offered beautiful flowers, trees, shrubs, and houseplants to its customers, so you’re sure to find just the right plant. Plus, you can enjoy strolling through the aisles together as you choose.

  1. Dive back in time. Head to the Riversdale Historic Site & Museum in Riverdale Park to learn about the history of the mothers and mother figures at this former plantation space from its construction in 1801 through Emancipation in 1864. You’ll get a guided tour through the historic site and museum.

  1. Get creative in nature. Take part in a hands-on, nature-inspired craft at the Clearwater Nature Center in Clinton. You’ll be inspired by the environment around you as you create a floral art piece. Once you’ve finished with your craft, you can take a walk together through one of the many trails from the center.

  1. Build a perfect mimosa. When you’re out for brunch at Pennyroyal Station in Mount Rainier, you and your mom can enjoy bottomless mimosas with mango, orange, guava-grapefruit, or peach juice. If you’re looking for something a bit more savory, try the Bay Bloody Mary, and if you’d prefer a non-alcoholic drink, try The Other Clooney, with cardamom syrup and lime juice.

  1. Go for a stroll. If your mom loves nature and movement, she’ll love hiking through Prince George’s with you. Follow four miles of easy trekking on the Swan Creek Perimeter Trail in Fort Washington Park. You’ll see gorgeous forests and interesting wetlands as you hop between scenic views, Potomac River spottings, and more. Don’t miss the Fort Washington Lighthouse for a glimpse into the history of the landscape.

  1. Pack a picnic. Marlboro Meadows Park in Upper Marlboro makes picnicking easy. There are all kinds of amenities and activities for the family at the site, from picnic tables to grills to playscapes. You’ll also find easy parking, grassy fields, and basketball courts.

  1. Relax at the spa. If anyone deserves a day at the spa, it’s your mom. Refreshing Springs Day Spa in Upper Marlboro understands self-care and offers many ways to feel pampered and recharged.

  1. Go on a tea journey. Book a private slow-pour session for your mother with Adjourn in Lanham. You can enjoy the experience at the Adjourn Studio, in your own home, or any other space that works for you. Wherever you are, you’ll get a guided tea meditation, curated tea tasting, interactive tea blending, and a sacred naming ceremony. You’ll even get to take your custom blend home with you at the end.

  1. Book a brunch. There’s something for even the pickiest mom on the brunch menu at Station 202 in Hyattsville. The restaurant serves breakfast until 2:30 p.m., so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the meal together. Try the grilled NY steak and eggs, biscuits and chicken gravy, or pancake combo. If you’d like more choice, go for the “make your own” omelet and Benedict station.
